Well hello you beautiful house! You sure have been a LOT of work and you’ve really come along way – baby!!! With Christmas coming up I really wanted to finish up as much as possible and get the house clean and enjoy the holidays like a “normal family”. I think I always work hard but these last few weeks have been insane … and totally worth it! This all literally came together yesterday and we keep walking around a corner and being shocked by the clean, bright beautifulness of the space. To us it’s beautiful. Of course it’s not everyone’s cup o’ tea but we LOVE it!
Do you remember what it looked like when we purchased it? And my plan for it? Here’s a reminder…
My vision of how a place could/should be almost always push Wes right to the edge and I have to be very purposeful about how I get to the end result so he doesn’t topple OVER the edge completely.
But once the end result if achieved, he admits that it was worth living through the chaos.
It’s taken 3 1/2 years but it’s quite a difference. Don’t you think?
After the holidays I’ll have a tutorial for the columns, details on the light fixture, paint colors, how I made the sliding door and answers to all the other questions I know you’ll have. I get to cross so many rooms off the list. I showed you the little hallway reveal which is done. The powder room which still needed some paint and caulking and doorknob — is done!
Entry — Done!
Library — Done!
And half the Living Room — DONE!
After the holidays I’ll get back to the Kitchen and finish that up along with installing the moulding in the Dining Room so I can cross those off the list too. It’s getting exciting!
For the next week though, I’m on vacation.
Wishing you all the happiest of days during these holiday weeks!
WOW, so beautiful and yes I keep looking at the pics and saying ‘how did she do THAT?’
Well done! You have earned your Nog this holiday season.
Absolutely incredible work Sandra! Enjoy your holidays!
Merry Christmas from my family to yours! As far as my family and co-workers are concerned, you win the prize for turning me into a power tool loving, project building nut! But they love the results!
Love it !
When you have time, would you share the paint colour that is on the walls? Beautiful job.

Fantastic! You win the “I’ve almost killed Myself but it’s Beautiful” award. 🙂 It really is, Sandra.

Okay, so very gorgeous! Have a lovely Christmas and I’ll be excited to see and learn more about it after your vacation!
It’s just so beautiful! Enjoy it and have a wonderful Christmas season!

Beautiful. So excited for you, I love crossing rooms off my list!!!
Absolutely amazing! I love it!
You are such an inspiration. I do a lot of building myself but I am no where near your skill level, although few people are. Your house is gorgeous. My favorite thing is your dining room “x” ceiling.

Wow Sandi! It looks fabulous! I can’t believe it’s been 3 1/2 years. It seems like only yesterday I was sad that you had to leave that unbelievable craft room! Hope you had a wonderful holiday! Happy New Year!
I have come back ten times to stare at these rooms. Your work is just amazing. The house is so elegant, so airy, so…architectural. I think you are a genius. This is the best blog on the internet. <3
An amazing transformation…beautiful! Congratulations!

This looks absolutely AMAZING! And I love the way you encased your entry. I think I’m going to try that in my living room. I will keep you posted!
Holy freak, I love it all. The ceilings, the color, the trim and molding!? I love when a room can look completely decorated with out actually NEEDing anything in the room. Just trim and paint. Love it lady.
