How to Make a Decorative Hair Clip Holder

How to Make a Decorative Hair Clip Holder - Decorative Hair Clip Holder - $1 gift idea

I got this idea for this Decorative Hair Clip Holder when I was at my sister’s house last month.  Her daughter had something like this in her bathroom to hold all her hair clips.  I’m thinking this would be a cute, easy, inexpensive gift.  Could be a double gift if you made some cute hair clips to go with it!

It’s super easy!  All you need is a big flower or something cute for the top, ribbon and a key ring (For some reason we have dozens of promotional key chains that have been handed out and we never use them.   Who does?  I just took the ring off one of them.)

First, cut the ribbon to the length you want.  I made mine about 3′ and I also cut one end with tails to help reduce fraying.

Then I sewed a small loop in the other end of the ribbon.

Wrangle the key ring onto the loop.

Now sew, clip or glue your decorative flower on to the ribbon just below the ring.

Now you can hang your Hair Clip Holder on a nail or thumbtack and accessorize!

We made these hair clips by making rosettes and glueing them onto some metal clip notions we bought at Hobby Lobby.
