*My ceilings are 9′ tall on the main level and my wainscoting is 5′ tall. I follow the golden rule of thirds – loosely!
*I used 3/4″ MDF
*I used a router table and and Roman Ogee bit
* my rails and stiles are 4″ wide
*the base rail is 10′ tall
*I created the top moulding by combining 3 different mouldings.

The lighting in your hallway is DEVINE! Its amazing what little differences utterly change the look of a space. The painted trim…oh really jsut everything. Perfect!

Gah! Trying to figure out how you did that wainscoting. What is a base rail? I'm assuming it's on the bottom like baseboard? I want to do wainscoting but the rails sticking over my baseboards will drive me batty. I noticed yours doesn't … hmmmmn.. I also wonder what you do when stopping the treatment where its not against a piece of door trim or in a corner but an exposed edge. What did you do to the edges if the trim?

You've got this great vision of what things can be. I would have looked at the original version and just lived with it- not totally happy- but not seeing the potential. You were meant to have a router in your hand! Milk & Cookie Party Giveaway!!! Check us out!

The way you did the wainscoting, I think it makes the ceiling look taller. Simply beautiful!

How do you like the vessel sink compared to not? I like the height of them, but worry that clean up around it would bother me.

I'm sure you think I've gone away rudely, but instead of I've been rudely waiting to see a bunch of the house at once (I LOVE house tours … apparently I enjoy being jealous).Anyhow, so far everything looks so amazing! I adore that you've ditched the horrible "wall of glass" type mirrors in bathrooms and installed framed mirrors instead. Also, the sconce-style lights … so great! Especially since as you (or new owners, I suppose) want a bit of a change … simply switching out the chimneys or bells makes a HUGE and cheap difference! Please don't tell your Madison that I'm completely jealous of her room. 🙂 From the flower-covered lamp to the pink and black curtains and even the little stuffed Unicorn … the only reason I'm not jogging out right NOW for a bolt of hot pink fabric is that I'm fairly sure My Guy would move out (something to keep in mind if he ticks me off, I guess :)).p.s. I have a brand new, spare lava lamp … just sayin' … 🙂

When I lived in Chicago back in the winter of 2000/2001 the mailman told us he wasn't going to deliver anymore until we got the sidewalk cleared. Dang landlord took 2 more weeks. So I am guessing they don't train for that around there =)
