Now if you turn around, directly opposite the Dining Room, is the Library.
Here’s what I started with.
Again, we changed out the flooring, painted the walls and trim. Then I built this wall of bookcases and that was that!
Bookshelves Materials - MDF, Pine and Poplar.
Arches - I created a template on paper and cut them out with a jigsaw then sanded the crap out of them to “perfect” the arch.
Rug - Home Goods (I think)
Armless chairs – Pottery Barn Outlet (When I lived in San Antonio…miss that store)
Giant wooden bowl – Cabo sometime in the past
Black hutch - Pottery Barn Outlet (It was damaged, but nothing a putty magician like me couldn’t handle)

It really looks great Sandra. I love the striped rug. I wouldn't worry about putting stuff on the walls. When we painted right before putting ours on the market the agent said not to bother putting stuff back on the walls. Buyers prefer clean walls to put up their own stuff!
SO funny!!! As I was reading about you moving again, something hit me. We have been married 7 years and are already on our 16th move…ironic…and ToRtUoUs!!!!! At least now I am hoping with a "grown up" job we will stay where we are for a loooooong time =D. I love your blog and want to take you home with me! Let's set up a time k? LOL
Sorry, email address: [email protected] or just visit me at classycosmetics.blogspot.com =).
Umm. You are amazing. I covet your library and want those built ins in the back of my living room. One day.
Sandra, can you share details about how you repainted the trim in the library? My husband and I have two pairs of stained oak finished french doors like the ones in the library and desperately would like to paint them white, but are too scared! What kind of paint/primer did you use? Have any tips and tricks?
What stain did you use to restain the stair railing?
