Malisa’s mudroom lockers are coming together. The bench is nice and all, but there is sooo much more work to do! I built the lower section of my lockers out of MDF and tried it out in the space to decide on where I was going to put the cleats. I wanted to make sure they wouldn’t cover my outlets. (Whew!) Catch up on mudroom lockers part 1 and part 2.
I bought a pipe clamp to span the long width. (The pipe was super oily, so someone at Home Depot told me to clean it with mineral spirits.) I learned the hard way that it is very easy to over tighten the incredibly strong pipe clamp.
I built the top cabinet out of melamine. It went really smoothly since Home Depot actually had boards the exact depth I needed!
I painted the MDF and put both parts in. This was probably one of the happiest moments of the whole project. I may or may not have done a happy dance and ran outside to find an unsuspecting neighbor to show. (Bonus: I met someone new who was amazed at my skills! She kept saying “You did this yourself?” Why yes, yes I did!)
Yes She did! It’s fun when the project starts to look like the end plan. Still a LOT of work to do but getting to this point gives you a little boost and excitement. Helps you stay motivated to keep plugging away.
