I’ve been “Framed” (By Mrs. Sawdust, with a Nailer, in the Powder Room)
I’m making progress in the Powder Room. Just when I started to feel comfortable with the Open Bathroom Policy!
First I tore out the closet. Then I tore out the tub.
Then I took out the extra door.
Framed that in and tore all the drywall off another wall.
It absolutely ALWAYS gets worse before it gets better!
Then I tore out that wall and reframed it for a pocket door.
And framed in the wall to close off the Powder Room. (The future “Coat Closet” is a surprise!)
That’s what I’ve been up to this week.
How did this “Living Room Coat Closet Tearout” turn into such a big project?
Muhahahahaha! 😉
Mareen, where have you been. I’ve been asking for an apprentice for forever! 🙂
The wall where the tub was is 2x4s, the pocket door is framed with thin metal cradled wood supports that come in a “Pocket Door Kit”. My kit was Johnson Hardware that I bought from Home Depot online. (It was cheaper than directly from the Johnson Hardware website.)
I think so too. I just feel bad for Wes because I’m sure it feels worse to him. I keep telling him to “Be patient. I’m creating awesome here!” LOL
Mostly…but not just for the tree. That closet was taking up way too much space in my small living room. (But having a place for the Christmas tree is an added bonus! LOL
We were looking for something with less demo required. LOL And to be honest, I didn’t plan any of this demo initially. I saw a house that had some potential. It didn’t make sense and I had no real plan or vision going into it. I just hoped I’d come up with something eventually.
Girl you amaze me! How have you learned such skillz??? And can I win you for a week??? 🙂
