How to make a Magnetic Backsplash!
I’m almost done with the playroom storage wall. I finished the craft area today and thought I’d show you how to make a magnetic backsplash.

I wanted the whole back splash to hold magnets so I cut some sheet metal to fit and attached it with liquid nails. (I got it from Home Depot in the air duct section. Lowe’s had aluminum which doesn’t hold magnets so if you’re planning a project like this make sure of what you are buying. The Home Depot pieces were like 24×32 for $8 each. I had to use 2 pieces and cut them to size with tin snips.)

I painted some wood strips black and glued them on to create a frame. I covered the sheet metal with some whiteboard and chalkboard vinyl. Then added some cork board for fun.

So fun!
Where did you get the magnetic whiteboard sheet?
Thx!
Thank you for this great tip! We had our old monster of an oven and microwave, which was built in the 80’s and ALL ONE PIECE, removed yesterday to be replaced today. Only when it was removed, did we realize that we would need a back splash… since the old had a light connecting microwave to stove! This tip was a life saver and now I have a magnetic backsplash for $20 🙂
Oh goodness! That is such a fantastic space you are creating!
