As in, “When your computer with all your photos on it dies!” My computer is only a year old. I wasn’t worried about it dying yet so I haven’t backed up anything. — ever.
So… instead of posting all the pictures I took this weekend of Madison’s AMAZING feature wall that Wes, Madison and I all worked on this whole weekend, I’ll just tell you about the one photo I uploaded to Facebook while we were working and realizing how TOTALLY AWESOME it is going to be. Go check it out…here or here or here. (Those all go to the exact same place. Hahahaha!)
It looks even more amazing now that it’s all filled in and there’s more to come so stay tuned!
I could just kick myself for not backing up. Oh well! What’s NOT done is NOT done. Step over it and move forward.
(But please oh please let an Apple genius be able to recover my pictures and files!!!)

OH NO!!! I learned that lesson the hard way too, thankfully it was early in my digital days. Now I refuse to delete photos off of my camera until they are on my computer and back up hard drive. I hope you can get them recovered!
BTW, the wall looks great so far. Can’t wait to see it all done.

I’ve had a hard drive on my mac die before, and they are sometimes still able to get everything! So, there is hope! Take it to the geniuses!

That bites. We just bought a backup external hard drive for our getting old computer.. haven’t used it yet. Maybe I should get on that.

I’m a photo fiend and take a ton of pics. I had them all backed up on an external hard drive. Within a month, both my laptop failed and then my external drive went kaput. Years of photos lost. Such a horrible feeling! I have not tried to get anyone to recover them. I’m afraid they are going to say they are forever gone.

It’s worth having someone try. I had a windows based computer hard drive get fried on me once and thought I’d lost about 6 months worth of work files. A friend had me drop off the computer for her tech guy to look at, and he was able to recover just about everything. 🙂 Now I’m much more on top of backing things up regularly. I don’t ever want to have to go through that again!

I feel for you. I just lost 4 years of photos thanks to a corrupt USB drive. I, too, hope the data recovery geniuses can get them back. Fortunately I’d already scapbooked 2 of those years. So they aren’t a complete loss. I’ll be thinking of you! Hope you get those pics back!
