Just for fun (or not)

When we went camping in the rain, Brody spent a bit of time wrapped in a towel in my arms seated by the fire because he was shivering.  I’ve never seen a dog shiver before.  So we decided he needed a sweater.

Chillin

But Madison was shopping with me so we didn’t stop with one simple, soft fleece sweater.

No!

We were at Ross and they had a bunch cute little doggie shirts and sweaters for $5 … and that girl talked me into getting a few.  And then insisted on a fashion show as soon as we got home.  And because we’re a sharing kind of family, I couldn’t let THIS go unshared!

I never thought I’d put my dog in clothes.  But then, I never thought I’d HAVE a dog — or fall in love with a dog, so my world is full of SURPRISES!

Madison thinks it’s great fun dressing Brody up in these things.

Brody…I’m not so sure.  But he loves us so he doesn’t say anything!

  1. So stinkin cute! I’m not big into doggie clothing either, but our Grand-fur-baby has a Sparty jersey, rain coat and vest for colder days. They are our babies after all. Brody looks like he’s very happy to put on the fashion show for you. Enjoy him!

  2. People tend to forget that if they have a dog who lives in the house, he gets acclimated to the inside temperature and his coat doesn’t develop to combat cold weather outside. It would be like us going outside without a coat or sweater on a freezing day, so doggie shirts/sweaters do serve a real function.
And…if they’re cute and stylish, then so much the better! ha ha!

  3. OMG! Too cute. I’m glad you shared the doggy fashion show with us! Not a big fan of dog clothing, but we definitely have a few “outfits” for Lola. Like her Steelers jersey, raincoat, houndstooth coat (that matches mine), and a puffy pink coat (for the days when it gets to 20 degrees in Florida)–it also makes her look like she is a character from South Park!

I can’t wait to see his other seasonal outfits.

  4. That is too cute and funny. Now you have to get him the “Christmas Sweater”–the kind that some women wear and break out Dec. 1st and have enough for the month. Why do I think Brody might end up with enough for the month? He has to get (Christmas Gift?) a really cool looking one, like from LL Bean, that is hip and warm!!! Do you hear this Maddie?
