Just for fun (or not)

When we went camping in the rain, Brody spent a bit of time wrapped in a towel in my arms seated by the fire because he was shivering.  I’ve never seen a dog shiver before.  So we decided he needed a sweater.

Chillin

But Madison was shopping with me so we didn’t stop with one simple, soft fleece sweater.

No!

We were at Ross and they had a bunch cute little doggie shirts and sweaters for $5 … and that girl talked me into getting a few.  And then insisted on a fashion show as soon as we got home.  And because we’re a sharing kind of family, I couldn’t let THIS go unshared!

I never thought I’d put my dog in clothes.  But then, I never thought I’d HAVE a dog — or fall in love with a dog, so my world is full of SURPRISES!

Madison thinks it’s great fun dressing Brody up in these things.

Brody…I’m not so sure.  But he loves us so he doesn’t say anything!

Well, who could not fall in love with your Brody! What a cutie pie, and so patient with his wardrobe switches. I walk a small dog who loves her fleece hoodie, but hates her sweater type garments. I think they are too snug, and maybe twist/irritate her fur?? My compliments to your reader, Marcie, who not only rescued a dog, but went so far as to find him a forever home. Way to go. You, too, will be rewarded someday.

    1. I think people who rescue animals should get awards! 🙂 And people that take good care of their pets should too. Marcie definitely deserves one.

  2. I never thought we’d put sweaters on our dogs either.. but they get SO COLD!

It secretly melts my heart when Indy & Buster wear their sweaters.

They are going to be a skeleton and a gnome for halloween lol

    1. Cute! Maddie want’s a whole costume for Brody but I don’t think we’ll have time to look for one (or make one which was the original plan). So, now we’re thinking we’ll wear our pirate costumes from a few years ago to match him in his little black and white sweater. LOL

  3. SO CUTE!!! I know what you mean about shivering dogs. At the first of September we found a beagle on the highway who was wearing a harness and dragging his leash. We picked him up and tried everything we could think of to find his owner, but no luck. After five weeks we were able to find him a new forever home (we couldn’t keep him because of our quite old cat). YAY! But, there were a couple times when we’d be outside and he would just shiver like crazy. I’d never seen such a thing before. Nobody believed me. I got a lot of, “he’s a dog, they’re used to being outside, he’s fine!” But I still wrapped him up and held him close anyway. I was definitely considering picking up a doggie sweatshirt for when the temperatures dropped! Besides, they’re SO cute!!

Good for you for taking such good care of your little guy. The one thing I learned (or had reinforced, rather) through my search for the beagle’s owner is that there are a lot of lost and unwanted dogs (and cats) out there who deserve to be living a life like Brody! Take care of him and he’ll take care of you. 🙂

    1. Marcie that poor little guy you found on the highway. Makes me sad. But they you saved him. You’re a saint! We didn’t rescue Brody but Maya is a rescue and we love her too.

Haha! So adorable. My dogs have sweaters too, because they shiver and get cold in winter. Watch out, before long Brody will have his very own dresser to hold his wardrobe 🙂

Ohhhh, maybe you could design a fabulous doggy closet….

    1. The things we do for our kids (or that we blame on our kids even though we actually really love it ourselves.) Ha.
