So I’ve let this kitchen remodel drag on and on and on… I’ve been busy on other things. Like my workshop and mudroom and dining room…
It’s nice not to HAVE to push through a project if you’re just not feeling it. I think it’s best to wait to work on a project until you’re feeling the love for it. Work on it when you have that … “spark”!
If you push through when you’re not totally excited about it you won’t be as invested in making it “the most awesome thing you’ve ever made in the history of the world”! Which should be your intention with every project you are building in your home…IMO.
I’ve waited patiently for my little spark to return. This is my home after all and no one is waiting on me to finish. Except Wes and Madison…and you, of course!
I’m finally back on it. Not sure I’m ON FIRE but I definitely have a spark! So I’m finishing up the last two cabinets that need to be built in order to complete the dream. This is the” coffee station” that has become the coffee, cappuccino, protein shake and pill storage area.
This is NOT what I envisioned here!
This area is where our dishes NEED to be stored. There’s nothing there so our dishes are all over the place.
Neither of these cabinets is going to the ceiling so I have to first prep the portion of walls that will be visible. Yes I am cutting corners by not skim coating the entire wall but you know how much I hate skim coating so I’m going with this. I don’t cut corners when I’m building things but I’m ok with not caring about what a wall looks like behind a permanently fixed piece of furniture.
Totally ok with that!
No one will ever know the difference…except me and you, of course. It’ll be our little secret.
K?
Shhhh.

Ok. And I won’t tell a soul. 🙂
I totally understand. When I sew and my hearts not in it it will actually irritate me. Not the jumping up and down kind of irritation but there is no joy to what I’m doing. Take a break come back in a few days or a month is what I do.
I’ll still be here to see the finished kitchen…I’ve waited for this and I don’t want to miss it. 😀 And I’ve loved seeing what you’ve done whilst on break from said kitchen.

I’ve been wanting to work on our mudroom too since July. We are waiting on a plumber to run water lines on our 2nd floor to turn our 4th bedroom into our new laundry room. Our old laundry room on the 1st floor will become our new mudroom. Got everything planned but just waiting now for the plumbing. It’s just hurry up & wait…. Frustrating.
