How to make a Magnetic Backsplash!
I’m almost done with the playroom storage wall. I finished the craft area today and thought I’d show you how to make a magnetic backsplash.

I wanted the whole back splash to hold magnets so I cut some sheet metal to fit and attached it with liquid nails. (I got it from Home Depot in the air duct section. Lowe’s had aluminum which doesn’t hold magnets so if you’re planning a project like this make sure of what you are buying. The Home Depot pieces were like 24×32 for $8 each. I had to use 2 pieces and cut them to size with tin snips.)

I painted some wood strips black and glued them on to create a frame. I covered the sheet metal with some whiteboard and chalkboard vinyl. Then added some cork board for fun.

So fun!
It looks great! I can't wait to really get decorating our playroom. And like you, much to build. My husband and I are building a wall unit that we can't seem to finish. -shaunna 🙂
Looks fantastic! I love your white-board. 🙂
So is this craft area in the playroom? Is it under the stairs? I am confused about the layout, I guess. So cute, though, and I was JUST wondering what to buy that was magnetic. Does the steel come in smaller sizes, or do you have to buy an entire sheet?
GREAT JOB and a fun working space! Great idea to finish your work with such a cute girl decoration! 🙂
It's looking great! Your daughter is fortunate to have such a wonderful mum and from the sounds of it, you have a pretty amazing daughter too! xx
