Before Christmas, I said some changes were coming after the holidays.
Well, it’s after the holidays.
I’ve been mulling over some ideas for almost an entire year. I’m a firm believer in jumping in with both feet AFTER thinking it through. Really, really thinking it through.
I really don’t want to bore you with the why’s and what for’s…after all, I have been thinking about this for nearly a year. There have been A LOT of why’s and what for’s over that time.
Here’s what you need to know.
Change is Awesome!
What’s changing?
1. My site name is changing. Starting tomorrow, (if all goes as planned) when you come to visit me I will be “Sawdust Girl”. sawdustgirl.com will redirect to SawdustGirl.com so even if you forget and type out the whole long Sawdust and Paper Scraps…you’ll still find me. Nothing else should change. The posts and pictures that were lost in “The Great Breakage” are a lost cause but nothing else should disappear. {here’s hoping}
2. I’ll be designing, helping, coaching and and sharing more than just MY OWN projects. I’m putting on the “B-I-Y {Build-it-yoursel} Coach hat. (Or DIY Coach, depending on the task.}
If I do say so myself, I have more ideas in my head than one Sawdust Girl can possibly build all by herself. I love designing spaces. Finding solutions to tricky design dilemmas. Making drab spaces AWESOME! So, it’s going to be cool to do the fun part, watch someone else do the work and watch my plans come to fruition. I’ll just sit back with my hot cocoa and Skype them through that back breaking work!
My goal is obviously to teach the “client”, but also to continue to share inspiration, education and entertainment. heehee
I’ve been testing it out over the last month. I’m currently working with four “gals” on projects that I will be sharing as we go. You’ll start seeing some of their projects next week. Some clients are/will be bloggers and some won’t. Some will be women and some might be men. (If they have the guts to learn from a woman — I mean Sawdust Girl. haha)
Bloggers can post teasers about their project but the meat of it will happen only here. That’s part of the agreement. If you want to see a good teaser, check out my very first Sawdust Coach client, Beckie, who blogs at Infarrantly Creative. We’re doing a humongous craft room studio. It’s going to be amazing!
It’s exciting. It’s rewarding. It’s SUPER DUPER time consuming.
My time is valuable to me so this is not a free service. Price is determined on a per project basis but I guarantee you will spend A LOT less DIY’ing with me than you would if you hired the job out.
**If you have a project you’d like to tackle together, email me at [email protected] to discuss.
3. I am also starting an actual, physical design, construct and DIY coaching business and will HOPEFULLY be taking on some real paying jobs. {In all my spare time!}
I’m really hoping SawdustGirl.com is going to be awesome for you AND me …so let’s hold hands and jump in together.
Here goes…
