Instead of another tutorial, today I’m just sharing some news with you. Because we actually did just have Christmas in July! Only not really because we paid for this ourselves instead of receiving it as a gift…
We closed on our new house yesterday!
Yes it is true, though I was starting to think it might never happen.
We’re all kind of exhausted because we were there until 11:00pm putting brown paper on the windows.
We were going to buy a tent and air mattresses and camp out there but Madison is TERRIFIED of spiders (it’s in the woods so there are a lot) and since the house is still empty, it doesn’t feel like home.
She wouldn’t even use the bathroom out at the new house. We definitely need to get out there with a vacuum before she’ll spend any time out there.
So that is my news. Merry Christmas in July to me
Last week there were very few participants for the link party so I’m thinking that I’ll just skip that this week, (unless I see comments stating that news is too disappointing to bear). Ok?
OK,
I am SOOOO ready to get into some projects again…I have my first 5 planned out already! See you soon!
Jaime says
Sandra long overdue – CONGRATULATIONS! Now we need to see some serious BEFORE pics! Get that garage set up and starting sawing.
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Thanks Jaime, I can’t wait to share pics. I can’t believe I haven’t even had a chance to take them yet. 100 phone calls and little errands to get ready for move in on Tuesday…
Chantelle - ThousandSquareFeet says
Doing a happy dance for you! I can only imagine the excitement! Yippee!
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
LOL! Thank you Chantelle! I haven’t done my happy dance yet. I think once I get all the cobwebs cleaned out of my workshop, then I’ll do mine.
Erin says
YAY! I wish I had something to link up, but not really. July has kicked my butt and caused a serious lack of crafting.
rebecca says
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Every time we’ve moved into a house, my head is always swimming with all the things I’d love to do. Unfortunately, it’s also the time that we’ve used every last dime for closing costs and I’ve got no money to do said projects. CURSES!
Good luck – we know you’ll transform it into something amazing.
(no pressure, right?)
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Isn’t that the way it always goes? When we have the time and money (because we don’t have a house), we have no projects to work on!
campblsoupgrl says
Yay! Congratulations!

Hooray and congrats!!!! We had a big house day yesterday, too, and got final mortgage approval on our soon-to-be new house. Exciting times all around!!

Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Yeah, Congrats to you too! That is so exciting, Tanja.
Yes, the vacuuming is a blast!
Booyah's Momma says
Whoohooo! How exciting for you! It will be fun to see the projects on the new house start.
Although I’m with Maddie… I hate spiders, and would rather hold it all night than to risk running into one of those in the bathroom.
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Ha! She still won’t use the bathroom here and I vacuumed everything. Maybe after the boxes all arrive and it feels more like home…we’ll see.
Megan says
I smell the sawdust already!
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
I can’t wait!
Brooke says
Whoo Hoo! I am dying to see pictures. Good luck with the spider removal. 🙂
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Called the “bug guy” and vacuumed. Tomorrow we have about 30 light bulbs to replace, then perhaps we’ll actually get some pictures. Here’s hoping! 🙂
Brittany (aka Pretty Handy Girl) says
Hooray! I’m so happy for you guys. Glad the closing happened. Good luck.
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Thanks so much. We were a little nervous and weren’t sure it was happening until about 1 1/2 hour before! Sheesh!
Laura @Ms Smartie Pants says
Congrats, good for you, can’t wait to see it AND what you do with it!
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Thank you Laura. I can’t wait to see what we do too. I’ve got a couple ideas…
Chandra says
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to see the before and definitely after pics.
Erin @ Two Story Cottage says
Why are closings always so dramatic? Glad you finally get your home! My mind too is swimming with a zillion projects. It is a pain that you have to do the actual moving of stuff & unpacking first. 🙂 Good luck! Can’t wait to see pics! 🙂
Sarah @ Thrifty Decor Chick says
Congrats!! I know you must be so ready to get your hands dirty again! 🙂
Brandy Miller says

Congrats on your new house!! It was my dream to move to a home in the country that was already built. However, my husband I still work in town, so we are building a cottage in a suburb. I am so excited for you and look forward to some wonderful before and after pictures!! Those are the best. Hugs, Jan
