When you don’t get your paint mixed well enough it can wreak havoc on your project causing you to spend even more time sanding and repainting when all you want to do is be DONE WITH THIS PROJECT once and for all. Mixing you paint properly is KEY. You can shake it (just make sure your lid is on tight or you could end up with a mess like I did that one time…)or you can stir it with a stir stick but unless you REALY spend a lot of time doing either of those tasks, you’re not going to get it well enough. Using a paint mixer in your electric drill is the best way to get your paint mixed properly.
These little tools are not expensive and can save you time and energy so it’s a win/win/win to have and use one.
Red Devil Speed Demon paint mixer.
Using a paint mixer is easy, put it on your drill, put the mixer in the can and mix. You may want to cover the can with cardboard by pushing the handle of the mixer through a piece of cardboard before securing the handle in the drill. If you choose to walk on the wild side, you might end up with paint all over yourself, your drill and workspace. The choice is up to you. (I like a little wild side now and again!)
When you’re done mixing, clean the paint mixer off by spinning it in a bucket of water.
It cleans off super fast at those rpm’s! 🙂

The paint mixer shown here works best, but a wooden spoon works well, too.
