Wes and I decided a few weeks ago that we need to hire some work done on this house. It’s twice the size of our last house and that house took me 5 years to complete!
Uhm…yeah, I’m gonna need some help on this one. I seriously doubt I’ll be living here 10 years and I’d like to finish it and ENJOY LIVING in it for a while this time.
So I’m having some work done!
I try not to have too much going on at once because I like to at least “supervise” even if I’m not “doing it myself”- but yesterday was a bit out of control.
Let me just tell you it was a torrential downpour of activity here yesterday!
The painters were already going to town on my porch…
…when the electrician showed up and while I was “helping” him…
…I looked out the window and saw the CABLE BURYING GUY pull up!
I about jumped off the ladder and ran out and hugged the guy!
The only thing that saved him was the fact that he was on the phone.
He declined letting me take his picture but he buried the internet/TV cable OVER YONDER!
And while the cable guy and the painters were doing their thing, I cut the rest of my MDF with my new assistant, Laura.
Ok, I didn’t hire an assistant. (Wouldn’t that be nice?) She just came out to help me. NICE!
Laura is awesome and it was great to have help!
(I’m thinking about taking applications for Internships. 2 character references required! 😀 )
Then to top off my day, my chandeliers arrived!
I haven’t even had time to open the box but I’m starting to get excited about this closet.
Today, I’m hoping to knock out 6 of the 28 cabinets I designed for that room.
Oiy! What a Day!
Brandy Miller says
Progress! Awesome! You didn’t post a pic of the chandeliers? I’m so disappointed. 😉
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Well I haven’t opened the boxes yet. Plus, I think I’m keeping it a surprise for the final reveal…but you never know.
Victoria says
Whoo hoo! Glad things are moving forward for you!
Lynn R says
Great!!! Love the pics. great looking house!
Crystal says
Good luck with all of your projects. A new house is fun but can also be overwhelming…breathe and enjoy. Wish I lived closer, I’d apply to be your assistant!
Katie from Sew Woodsy says
OMG! So exciting. So glad the cable guy came to your house! I can’t wait to see the progress.
Clydia says
Dang girl that’s alotta stuff goin on! I’m super excited to see the reveal! XOXO
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Yes but I’m so glad it’s happening. Now if my back will just cooperate so I can build these dang cabinets! I hate building on the ground.
pine tree home says
Can’t wait to see the Chandy!
Laura :) says
Progress is motivating!!! Having help is so neat cuz you are in one room and know that work is going on in another place…or in your case multiple places!!!!
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Yes! It’s awesome to leave a room one way and come back and all the work has happened and you didn’t have to do any of it. I could get used to this – if I had a bigger wallet. 🙂
Laura :) says
Yes, the wallet problem effects me as well!! 🙂
Katy says
sounds like a wonderful day! 🙂
Andrea says
Wow! What a productive day! Makes me want to go out and finish painting the door I started TWO WEEKS AGO. Sigh. I’m a loser.
Sawdust and Paper Scraps says
Goodness. If two weeks procrastination is the loser mark, I’m a lost cause! Two weeks is nothing and I can’t claim any productivity anyway. All I did was answer the door five times and run around like a crazy woman trying to keep tabs on everything going on.
Laura @Ms Smartie Pants says
I am exhausted just reading about it! You go girl!!
JaneEllen says
Looks like things are coming together! All that waiting, then everyone shows up at once. Count your blessings, that’s awesome!

Things are looking up, am thinking I will apply for your internship, so long as it is not a paid one LOL. I actually hired a “Pool Boy” this summer. No, don’t have a pool, but he does whatever I tell him. He is a hungry HS graduate with a fancy truck to pay for. He is a bit handy with tools, but am teaching him all kinds of other carpentry stuff, painting, etc. Working great. Now this winter, we, he n me, will finish off the basement, after 5 years of living here!
Loving your updates, keep busy!
