Still just getting worse (you know, before it gets better)
As usual, this project is dragging on and on. I keep finding more things to add. I have two completely different ideas for my “coat closet” and I have to make a decision before I can wire it and I have to wire it before I can drywall it… So I stopped drywalling for the time being!
I moved on to tearing out my patchwork of floor boards so I can patch it up. I don’t even know if this is going to work but I’ll give it a good try before I move on to plan B (which I will figure out on the fly).
I can’t move forward on the Formal Living room side of things either because the previous electrical wiring was run up through the floor so that means I have to cut a hole in my basement ceiling in order to access it so I can do the new wiring. (Not looking forward to breaking that news to the hubby who is already overjoyed about the mess.)
The only area that no longer looks scary is the little hallway which I finished drywalling before I halted on account of the “wiring situation”.
Thank goodness for “almost successful completions”, no matter how small, or I would be starting to feel a little overwhelmed right about now.
As it is, if I squint just right, so I don’t see anything to the right of the hallway, I’m feeling pretty good about my progress! But I can’t speak for Wes.
Your home looks like mine some days! 🙂 As if you needed one more thing … I just HAD to nominate you for the “Versatile Blogger Award!” Maybe when you take a break you can stop by and check it out 🙂
Hugs,
Bj

You are amazing. As far as I’ve come in this DIY journey, the thought of ripping out walls and building new ones, after wiring them, feels light years beyond me!! Feeling very thankful right now that I like where all the walls are in my house, lol! And Hubs is probably thankful for that too–he can’t stand the power tools being out in the garage during a big project, much less construction in the house 🙂 And you would be giving me ideas over here at Sawdust!
Take a deep breath–hopefully this is the storm and the calm will be here before you know it?
It does always get worse before it gets better, and even when you get used to it and think “yep, this is worse… now it’s going to get better” it will surprise you with a whole other level of worse. lol. But this looks like good progress to me!
Great Job! I so love watching your progress!
