How to use curtains to hide an off center window

I finally got the curtains up in my master closet! The off-center window has been really butting me so I had to get something up — quick! There wasn’t a chance I was going to rip out the window and move it over so I had to get creative and just trick my eyes with some visual “deception”.

I installed a long curtain rod above the window that extended over into the area where I needed to pretend the window also extended. So the curtain rod is centered in this space. I hung a curtain panel on each end of the curtain rod, pulled to the ends and only leaving a small bit of window exposed. Open the curtains any wider and you see the side of the window molding. Depending on how large your window is and how off center it is, you might be able to open your drapes wider.
Even though there’s only a little sliver window showing, my eyes are so much happier now that I’ve tricked them into thinking the window is centered!

gorgeous! I love the chair. I’d keep it. Curtains sure do a great ‘trick’ on the window.
Ah hah! I see the cabinet that you were painting the other day. That’s your ironing board cabinet isn’t it?
The chair IS gorgeous, but I think a plush, round ottoman would be really cool. Now I am off to wander my house to find off-centered windows to cover.
It looks awesome. But just one question. Where is my sleeping bag?
Beautiful. Do you have enough room for your clothes? LOL Love the curtains and the chair! Your closet looks like a boutique that I would love to go shopping in! Cheers.
