Goodbye Chicago, we’re going to miss you!
We have officially moved out of our Chicagoland home and all our belongings are in storage in Tennessee until we can find a new house to buy.
It’s weird, a little sad and kind of exciting!
Moving was fairly uneventful. Maddie and I were pretty bored for the first two days. We lounged on the sofa and watched movies all day,
while the movers packed up all our belongings.
On the third day, the movers loaded up the sofa and everything else in the house! (COMFY!)
And then they made their way into the garage!
This is what it looked like AFTER everything that was going was packed onto the truck!
We sent some stuff to Goodwill, gave some to friends, returned some ($$ Yipee) and then put an ad on Craig’s List and left the rest in the driveway.
My neighbor called me yesterday and told me everything was gone! So glad all this didn’t end up in a landfill.
I swept the floors and then we said goodbye!
It still doesn’t feel final. I suppose that will come in time.
We’re enjoying exploring our new home state. It’s beautiful and we’re excited to create new routines and traditions here.
Now, we just have to keep searching for a new house, one that needs some work to keep me busy and happy but not so much that the family will be miserable living through the transformation.
We’re all getting really antsy in this apartment. I start drooling now whenever I look at design magazines or go through my Pinterest files.
I have a “Follow me on Pinterest” button on my sidebar that takes you to my pins if you are interested. I’m taking a Pinning break because it’s just depressing me. LOL
We are really enjoying TN. It’s HOT though! But we’ve been hot before (AZ and LA) so we’ll get used to it. The houses in the area we are looking in are all over the place. Some are way overpriced and some are a good price but not for the location. It is going to be difficult to get everything we want. Now, we just have to decide which items we are willing to compromise on. Our “New house must have…” list is getting very short!
Thanks Jaime. Good grief- I hope the next episode starts soon. We’re all going stir crazy in this apartment!!! 🙂
My wish is to find a house that is equally functional and just as ugly as this house used to be so I can stay busy for another 5 years.
Well, that’s a complement a person can never get tired of hearing! 🙂 Thanks!
