Well Hello there! I didn’t mean to take a week off and not even give you any warning. We rented a cabin up in the Smoky Mountains for Spring Break. We thought there was internet — but there wasn’t. So, despite the fact that I had my laptop, I ended up taking a complete break, from projects and from Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest and Google+ and Blogging. I missed you … but it was GREAT!
We looked at some “beach” vacations but wanted to bring Brody with us and didn’t want to drive 8-10 hours so we ended up close to home. We rented a little cabin by a creek about 10 minutes outside of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We went into town for some meals and entertainment but spent a lot of time playing frisbee, tag and playing in the creek.
At first, Brody didn’t want anything to do with the water but he also didn’t want to be left out so he got in…which made him slightly resemble a wet rat and kinda stinky. (But still lovable and sweet.)
We had a good time hanging out together.
Taking a complete brake from projects and the internet was a really good thing for me.
I feel completely recharged and am ready to rock some projects! For real!!

Good for you, Sandra! What a nice vacation. Sounds so relaxing.

Thanks Andrea. Maddie kicked my booty at pool a couple times…and then kicked it again at checkers. I totally won at air hockey though. LOL

Well deserved break and the internet is still here. : )
Sandra says
It didn’t go anywhere did it? LOL

Oh, good for you! So glad you had fun family time! Sometimes a vacation with no internet is a gift. 🙂
Sandra says
It really is. It wasn’t the plan but turned out awesome not to have it. Completely unplugging once in a while is important.
Bj says
Yay you! A break gives you energy to get back at it 🙂
Hugs,
Bj

Yes and I’m raring to get back at it now. 😀

Your vacation was a rewind of OUR vacation last year. We went with three other couples, and seven dogs, and spent a wonderful week … probably pretty close to where you were. I love the Smokies, and it was even better sharing it with friends.

We were thinking it would be a really fun place for a family reunion. Our cabin was perfect for us but quite small. There were some HUGE cabins near us that would be perfect for a group vacation though. Sounds like you had a great time too.

Nice vacation! I love the energized feeling you get after a relaxing vacation. Can’t wait to see what you have in store!
Sandra says
Thanks Brandy. BIG things in store…I’m so excited to get on them!

Welcome back to the world of technology! We were without power for 4 hrs one night and it was sort of nice. I had so much to do that evening, but once reality set in, I decided to enjoy. Peanut butter and crackers by candlelight!

Once we got situated in the cabin and realized there was no internet it took me all of 10 seconds to let go. I did have technology though. I played quite a few solo games of Ticket to Ride on my iPad while we watched movies. LOL
