Things are coming together and I’m making progress in both rooms that are under way right now.
(Every time I say, “I’m making progress” a song from one of Madison’s TV shows pops into my head. Brownie points if you know what show and song I’m talking about. Hint is in my post title!)
ANYWAY — office walls are skim-coated, sanded and primed and the laundry room sink is curing with it’s last coat of Tung Oil.
I build the countertop for my laundry room and started staining it before I remembered I needed to cut out a hole for my sink. (It’s easy to forget important things when you just want to power ahead and make progress!)
And my office walls make me so much happier now!
I’m going to beef up the trim around the window and doors.
And this wall will be our double office. This room is a bedroom so I’m not doing built-ins in here. I’m building everything so we can remove it and take it with us when/if we move again. (IF–haha!) I’ve been stewing over exactly how to do that and make it look custom and built-in-ish while making everything modular so it can be integrated into a new design in the future.
I just let things percolate until my brain settles on “THE ONE” idea. So, last night I was drawing up plans, messing around, looking at inspiration pics…and I got it. THE ONE fell into my brain and now I’m stoked to get building it and using it!
So this weekend, come Hell or high water, we are getting recessed lights installed, changing out the fan, ripping out the carpet pad and starting on laying the wood floor.
Why the flip does everything take so flippin’ long to do? 🙂 Hope ya’ll are making progress on your big projects.
It’s the first Friday of the month so I’m putting up a link party so you can show off what you’ve completed this month.
Sawdust producing projects only! 😉

Do you use an app of some sort to keep track of items used that you want to remember for the future…for example paint brand and color number. I am trying to stream line my life and need an app for these type of things.

PJ, while it’s not a special DIY app I think Evernote is a great for keeping track of your projects. You can add notes and pictures. For example, you could adda note with the title of “Laundry Room” and add pictures of the paint used, sink, faucet with model number, etc. It’s free and will sync across all your devices.
