House For Sale…Finally!

All Posts, Personal

Yep, it’s official!

We had a deadline of yesterday to get our house on the market (relo company).  So, I have worked my ass(k me no questions and tell me no more lies…) off to get everything done and clean and ready!  The Realtor came over yesterday to take some pictures and I was still so UNready that we had to move boxes of crap from room to room in order to shoot each room.  After she left, Madison and I kept working, clearing out and CLEANING up all day.  I was nervous all night because the house really was not ready to show and what if someone actually wanted to come see it?!?!?!  So, I got up this morning and got back to work (and so did Madison) to try to finish!

Then guess what happened next? The unbelievable!

12 hours after listing my realtor calls asking if I’d be ready for a showing today?!!!  Are you freaking kidding me?!?!  But, what are you going to do?  In this market, I feel like if someone wants to come a lookin’…

So we tried to clean and put away and tidy even faster.  It was totally unrealistic to try!

We amazingly finished almost the entire house!  The “Game Room” in the basement was a lost cause so we threw in the towel and left the room with the vacuum and mop propped up in the corner.  (As if to say, “Yeah, we realize the floor is still covered in dust, we just didn’t get to it!”)

The point to this story?
I’m DONE!
I’m finally done with this house.  Or what I’m going to do anyway!
Of course, there are still things I would have done if I were to stay here- but I’m not –so I won’t!
So, I’m finally ready to give you a house tour.  Starting Monday, I’m going to share one room every day until I get through my whole house!
Before and after!
See you then.
I have to go take a nap.  I’m exhausted!

Woohoo! Congrats! I'm currently trying to get our house done so it can go on the market. Unfortunately I'm also 35 weeks pregnant and baby tried to escape so no more reno work for me until he is safely delivered!

CONGRATULATIONS!!(a few years back it took us THREE WEEKS until we had our first looker, which made me HATE the fact that I had scrambled so hard to get it ready.)

Awesome work. I'm sure that is a HUGE relief! When we list our house in a few months, I hope it's not such a frantic race to the finish, but I'm sure it's unavoidable.Good luck on a speedy, easy sale!xoxo, tanja

Looking forward to your tour! I had the same experience in getting listing photos – being that I'm a total control freak, I took the pictures (with piles of crap in other rooms). But you know, if the house had been completely "show ready", no one would have called for a showing, right? That's the way it worked for me anyway. If the house was a wreck, you could BET there would be a showing (with short notice too). If the house was perfect, no one would call to see it. Maddening!!

It's easier to sell a house in a crap market when you've done the kind of renovating you have! good luck and I hope you get a big reward for all this hard work! 🙂
