What are your thoughts on primitive basins? Stone sinks, concrete troughs, metal, driftwood, seashell …contraptions that hold water?
I’ve always been a fan of ragged jeans and cashmere. I feel like primitive stone basins in elegant washrooms are the home decor version of my fashion love.

I see them a lot now, but find them equally appealing. I think something that has been around for a couple of hundred years (or at least looks like it has) is going to be timeless—even after the trend passes.
What is someone going to say, “Your sink looks a little outdated?”

The real deal can be pretty pricey, $3000 and up, but there are a lot of more affordable reproductions available that give the same look; OR if you are feeling handy there are a lot of DIY tutorials.
I am going to talk my brother, Sid into helping me make one. He is a master of concrete counter tops, having made dozens for himself and friends and family.
He says making a concrete sink is a PITA– but I am dying to try to make one so maybe he’ll cave in and help me!
