Wes and Maddie requested that I put together HINT lists for them. It’s funny that at first I couldn’t think of anything I wanted…until I started looking. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
I scoured the internet and I found some things that I think would be GREAT gifts and wanted to share (in case you’re looking for some ideas for yourself someone you love too!)
Fun and Functional DIY Gear
ALL of the safety gear I own is made for a man. I would like to try some gear that was made with my body in mind. Maybe a little smaller, form fitting, less obtrusive and a little more color coordinated with my style. A girl likes to feel pretty, even when covered in sawdust!
Browning Buckmark Hearing Protection For Her
Currently $26.95
NRR of 31 decibels. OK, and I like that they are not black or yellow or orange!
I have the hardest time with safety glasses. My eyelashes ALWAYS brush against any safety glasses I’ve ever owned. My giant goggle type don’t have that issue but I don’t always want to wear giant goggles. Maybe these:
Hot Pink Global Vision Women’s Safety Glasses
Currently on sale for $5.50! Normally $12.
Anyway, I never wear tool belts because they are all HUGE on me. They fall down, or if they loop through my pant belt loops, they kinda’…drag my pants down so I’m having to constantly tug them up. It’s hard to build cabinets with one hand! Just sayin’.
Maybe a toolbelt made for someone more my size would fit better, still hold all my tools and not try to undress me. Maybe one of these:
Grip Women’s Pink Leather Tool Belt
$15.00
The Original Pink Box Tool Belt
$31.00
I like to protect my toes, but… well, again with the cute thing.
Justin’s Original Aged Bark Steel
$85
Tools and Gadgets
I’ve been using a silicon spatula which works but I’m thinking these tools would come in handy.
Rockler has this Glue application kit on sale for $14.99
OK, so while I was online window shopping I somehow ended up looking at all kinds of stuff. These are NOT on my Christmas hint list but they are on my Someday Wish List.
For the Home
I’ve been eyeing these slipcovered chairs from JCPenny for a while. Our giant sectional is the Linden Street Friday collection and it’s held up great. They look a lot like the PB basic collection but the Pottery Barn ones are over $1000.
These are on sale today for $540. We just aren’t ready for new furniture yet. Dang it! Maybe they’ll be on sale again in … like 2 years when I’m done renovating!
Linden Street Friday Stipe Slipcovered Chair
$540
Don’t you think I need two of these for in the library?
And this 8′x11′ Jute Rug is only $206.99
The library needs a neutral rug too.
Then the living room will need a new sofa after we tear the wall out to the kitchen. I think I love this one. (just online window shopping at this point.)
$921
…ok back to reality. No furniture for me but it was fun looking.
I seriously love those hot pink safety goggles though. (And they’re right in Madison’s price range!)
