The stairs and upstairs hallway are next on the house tour. The wainscoting and picture frame collage extends up the stairs and down the hallway.
* More about the Picture Frame Collage Wall here
*The lights were installed by an electrician
*The floors were laid by someone else
*I built the Wainscoting
*For the stairs, I tore off the carpet and then hired the painters to stain the treads and railing to match my floors (For only $150!)

That's THE most amazing hallway in the history of hallways!! The wainscotting is perfection and the frames are so creative! love it!your new KnoxVegas friend!
Just Beautiful!!! I want to create this look in my basement. How high up the wall is your wainscotting?
I'm totally late to the tour here, but I have to say that this is just an AMAZING transformation! I love it. LOVE it.
I love your stairway so so much. It is the very first thing I saw at your blog and it makes me smile everytime I see it.Your house has got to sell lightening quick. I can't imagine anyone passing up that hallway.
Oh, I'm addicted. I'm going to go out and buy a router table!
Hi Sandra!
Just discovered your blog via Pinterest. You have a beautiful home! In this particular post, you mentioned hiring painters to stain the treads and railing the same color as your floors, but what did you do with the parts of the stairs that are now white – the sides and backs of the stairs (they were all wood colored in the before pic)? Did you just paint these white yourself, and if so, did you sand and prime them first or just paint over the wood with a semi-gloss paint? I’d like to do this in my house but I wasn’t sure how to proceed.
Thanks!!
Amanda
